Go for it i had the same problem and i told my friend and she walked straight up 2 him and asked him for me he said yes i was really happy and if it werent for her we would never have been together because i am very shy and wouldnt ask him myself...
If ur shy or just dont feel like asking him yourself ask a friend you trust to ask for you Hope this helped xx
