Hi everyone, ChildLine would like to say that some of the content in your posts that are coming through at the moment around underage sex, pregnancy and activities with web cams are worrying. Alot of you are really supportive and give really sound advice to one another.

However please remember that this is a public message board. That means anyone can look at your messages so it's important that you stay safe online and be careful what you say about yourself.

If there are any issues on this board that are worrying you or you are too afraid to talk to someone please come and talk to a ChildLine counsellor either by phone on 0800 1111 or have a 1-2-1 chat online .

Please take care and be safe

    ChildLine

uum, like i understand where your coming from, but what do you mean by worying? i mean i thought the point of these boards was so that we can get advice and help from other people who may be experincing the same things, i understand that some of these things might be worrying for adults, but i mean isnt it better for us to discuss it sensibly where you can overlook it, rather than go out and do things without being fully informed and therefore not knowing the consequences of our actions, i understand about staying safe online, but i dont think anyone on here has put any information about themselves, although i can see the concerns about the webcams. and would advise anyone against showing their body parts on cam, also pregnancy at the end of the day is their choice, but they do need to know the consequences, and as for underage sex, well i dont see a point in putting an age limit on sex, because as long as you are mature enough to deal with it, then it shouldnt matter, because lets face it, people mature at different times, i mean i have just lost my virginity and i am 15, but i dont see that there was anything wrong with it as we were both ready for it, we both consented to it and we used protection, and tbh i think thats all that matters!

Thanks for your responses to ChildLine's worries about some of the  posts around underage sex/pregnancy and hope you find this information useful.  As you quite rightly say the message board is about sharing experiences and gaining advice from each other that is supportive.

However ChildLine have a responsibility to make sure that we are honest and open with you and remind you of information such as the legal side of things so that any choice you make is informed.  There are a couple of points ChildLine would hope you get to talk about around the issue of whether pregnancy is a choice or not.

First of all the UK law says it is illegal to involve anyone under the age of 16 years in any sexual activity.

Second part of this is that anyone under the age of 13years is not of an age to understand and agree to take part in sexual activity, even if they agree. This is classed as rape. The law says that it is the person who encourages the young person to take part in a sexual activity is the one who is responsible, not the young person.

If you have any worries about this information please come and talk to ChildLine

    Take care
