Thats exactly like me,
I'm 14 and have been self harming for a year and a bit off and on. I also told my best friends and they also convinced me to go to my form tutor/head of year!!!!
However when i didn't tell my form teacher that i self harmed my friends went (behind my back) and told her. I did forgive them, eventually. They were very worried that i was depressed!!!
So far, and i have been seeing her for a year, she hasn't metioned it to my parents, they still don't know. I begged her not to tell anyone and she hasn't!!! She got me a councillor and although i found her a bit iritating at first ( i don't like being analysed) she has helped me to open up and talk!!!
So i'd suggest that, as long as you trust her, you should tell her. They do all they can to help you! It may help you get better and understand your self harm more, it did for me
I know it can be confusing but its important to get help. I hope this helps a little bit.. good luck xxxxxxxx
