I very often self halm and do emo like stuff like hanging round by myself and a boy at my high school {in year 8} said I was an emo. That was kinda him bein a hypocrit cos he used to cut but it really upset me all the same. Am I an emo then cos of the stuff I do?
Of course you'r not an emo. The word 'emo' is a stereotype, it means nothing really. in my school there is a girl who calls herself emo and does not (that i know of)self harm, she is referring more to her style or fashion. Ive been called emo loads of times and it used to upset me but then my friends said that they meant my fashion not my self harming. Don't worry about it, next time they call you an emo just think that it is not a real word. Some people just dont understand the seriousness of self harm.
