    hello

i have tried bio oil b4 and it takes away cuts that are not that noticable but if the cuts are really noticable it will take a while for the bio oil to help it fade.

Hey =] I tried Bio-Oil before, it sort of worked but I didn't really like using it because of the smell (don't ask) so I only used it for a short time. My friend used it for about 2 weeks and said there was a slight difference but it doesn't take the scars away completely. I find that it is a very expensive way to get rid of your scars when all it does is fade them, if that in some cases. It doesn't always work, or so I hear. And you do have to use it every day, and depending on where your scars are, it's not always the nicest thing as has quite a strong smell. I haven't tried putting it in the bath, as it suggests on the bottle, maybe that would work better =D

Anyway, I think that it works best if you have less noticeable scars, if that makes sense, not like, big deep gashes which have healed? And they have to be actual scars, not still healing, as you can't put it on broken skin.

So.. if that made any sense at all, I hope it helped, if not, I apologise for my stupidity =] lol.

yes, it is expensive, but it's a toss up between embarrassment or poverty tbh. on the bottle it says to use it for a long period of time, so if you use it for like 2 weeks, obviously it won't work

well bio oil does cost quite a bit of money and you have to use it for a few months, twice a day, before they are fading. The bottle says to use for a minimum of 3 months so yeah its pretty expensive. TBH I used it and it didnt really work much, it faded them a little bit but i stopped using it now cos i give up

Bio oil works with scars like self-harm and stretch marks. For stretch marks, they start off as just red lines, but once bio oil is applied, they turn a sortof skin colour and are still noticable. So I wouldnt reccomend it if the scars are big, but otherwise, try it and see what happens (Y)

    Good luck :)

    Hi,

Maybe it's a little late to be posting this but it may help other children and young people in your situation.

I self harmed a lot last year and I had a lot of scars on my arms that were very red and clearly visable if shown. I began using Bio-Oil at the end of October last year twice a day until about the end of February. By the end of February my scars were no longer red and had almost faded away and I could wear T-shirts again and not have to worry that people could see the scars. You have to keeping going with it, it takes a long time to work but I think it's worth it. I bought a 125ml bottle that I think are about £10 in places like Boots and that lasted me those 5 months, so it goes a long way.

I think it's worth the money if you have the patience.

I used it and it didn't take anything away after using it 4 bout 2 months so if you can get it cheap then try it but for me it was a compleet waste of muny if ya no wat i mean!
