     How do you start the conversation with somebody to tell them that you are self harming

    was going to tell my friend, but didn't know how to start it? 

    so i was wondering how others came out with it?

    when i first told my friend it was over msn n she said she would not tell anyone n she didnt but that was when i first started but now i am doin it again n i dont have the guts to tell any1.but i think over a text  or over msn or somethink like that as once its gone its gone

     Thanks, i may try telling my friend after christmas as i really don't want her to be upset or worried or anything and ruin her christmas. 

    i may do it by msn

    You could just tell them you have something to show them and show them your cuts/burns etc, or write them an email or letter.

    No offense or anything but i really don't think its a good idea to show other people what you have done to yourself as a way of telling them you self harm. It will more than likely just be upsetting to the person and im guessing thats not what you want...

    To start with you could just ask them person if you can talk to them or say "there is something I want to tell you". They will be able to tell from that that there is something serious you wanna talk about.... then I suppose you just have to take it from there. It's up to you how you tell them and i think it should be natural, what you say, rather than something you have planned and rehearsed. Remember; there is no right or wrong way of telling someone. You just gotta do whats right for you....
