I think they have A REASON for self-harming. If they didn't have to cut, then I don't think they would. The emo sterotype is completely reversed - people think if you dress "emo" then you automatically self harm. When in fact, the majority of "emos" DONT self harm, and the ones that have feel more comfortable and happier dressing "emo".

Hey, i used to be a self harmer.

I used to wearbracelets & bobbles around my wrists, bobbles are really useful as if you've heard of the elastic band method (you flick the elastic band on your wrist everytime u wanna self harm - it really helped me stop self harming) anyway the bobbles good for that. In P.E i used to just wear long sleeves and hoodies. Foundations good for covering up but its really easy to rub off so you have to be really careful.

If its possible.. why dont you speak to your sports leader about the situation, if your over 14 im pretty sure they have to keep quite strong confidentiality rules, i know they did in my school, but check that one though before telling him/her the problem. And he/she might let you wear longer sleeves to cover up.

Hope this helps & stay strong & keep smiling (:

    Much love xx

I had the same problem as you, because when i started self-harming again, I didn't realise I was doing it, and cut my arms instead of my legs where I usually do. What I did for a while was I wore a black long sleeve top underneath my red p.e top. My P.E teacher never complained, because if anybody asked I just said that I want to keep warm, and it looks good too :) I'm sure they will allow you to do that, and if not, try putting a jumper on over the top and say you're cold?

    Best of luck xxx

I've been there so many times before, so I understand how difficult it can get. I have many things you could try but I don't know if these are effective for you.

Armwarmers or sweatbands - Tell them you get really hot/cold easily and just want to take care of yourself. [Or say it's for health reasons]

Foundation- Never tried it myself, but if you've got a good one go for it!

Plain sleeves- Wear a plain white top [or whatever colour your P.e. top is] if you can, but this isn't good in Summer.

P.e. jumpers- Some schools have like tracksuit jackets or jumpers you can wear? Not sure how strict your school is on this.

Drawings- As long as they're CLOSED, (don't want you getting infected) and depending if they're neat and together or scattered you could draw pretty patterns over them. I sometimes turn mine into giant messages on my arms saying RAWWR or something and people think it's cool. [Not promoting cutting at all!]  Use permanent markers like Sharpies. Tell people you want a tattoo or something and your experimenting with designs.

    Hope this helps 'xo
