I'm scared of heights and even though, most of the time, its better to face your fears, sometimes its not.
I've been scared of heights for about 3 years. Even when i watch tv and there is someone on top of a building, looking down, makes my stomach turn.
I went on a residential trip with a group of friends and we had a fun activity day planned. There was a rock climbing and abseiling challenge that we were all meant to atleast try. I refused for a while but then with the support of my friends, thought, okay, i'll try it. The wall was about 8 metres high. I got all strapped in and stuff, then started to climb.. i was fine for the first couple of steps but then as i got higher and higher, i could see the people who were meant to be holding my rope, weren't really paying attention. So i started to panic and as i started to panic, i got myself all distressed and started to cry. It was the most horrible feeling ever! then when they realised i needed to get down, they nearly flipped me upside down which made me even worse!
I'm 17 and i acted like that because of some stupid phobia.
I cant begin to think about how other people act to worse phobias.
