I Hate CAMHS  iv seen three people so far and they dont provide the right treament iv told them this and so have my parents so now we are asking to see someone else if this new person does not work then im not going there anymore as there wasting my time and im not getting any where they make me so so so frustrated ....

I'm Happy to see your CAMHS are working for you lot though on this message board :) Keep the good work up !!!!

I had people come visit me from cahms. Nothing really happened and they didn't really help me. The first person made me draw faces then she just disappeared.

Few years later this guy came out to try to help me. He just kept repeating "i can't wave a magic wand". Yeah, i know you can't. I'm not asking you to. duh. Yeah they didn't help me. Maybe it was just those two. My experience wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either. :/

i've been a few times now and it has already helped quite a bit

i must say though for me things got worse before they got better and still are but everyones different

just think about it you dont want to be reali down and stuff for the rest of your life in the long run its gonna be worth it wether or not it gets worse before it does better.

CAMHS =  Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

I've seen 2 professionals based in that area of work. They both helped.

They will want to ask your parents questions (they might draw out of family tree for reference), but after that, it is your choice of whether your family go with you.

Good luck, it won't be as bad as you think.

I have been working with them for about a year and i can safely say that i have had no progression or anything AT ALL.

I've got more help frm friends than i have from them. They are just like everyone else.. they dont care.

It's just their job to do it so u cant blame them, theyre just no good.

i've recently started going to camhs and was terrified to begin with 2. i DIDNT take my parents for the first session or any since. they were fine about it, honestly. they say that on the letter cos they like to know u have support at home but obviously if u havent told your parents that isnt really relevant! the first session is just about general information about yourself and is about an hour. the ones after vary but my second was only 10 mins long and it was just to check my medication was alright. going to camhs is a really positive step to take although it's daunting at first. dont worry about it too much im sure you'll be fine!

Hi I went to CAMHS about 2 years ago for a year and it never helped me. I used to hate going there and really hated it there. I thought I was just wasting my time, they never listened to me or provied the right helpb for me.
