Hey, I have been at CAMHS for about a year now .... dont worry about it cos they just want to try and help you and they are friendly and remember they have seen so many people they will understand how you might feel. In the first meeting they will probably just be asking you background information and stuff and asking about whatever it is your going there for (e.g self harm , ED, anxiety etc etc) ... If you have anymore questions then just ask, i know everythin about it lol xxxxxx

My psychiatrists are from camhs they are very nice to me and it is good because they will understand what i mean when no-one else does I like to go because I can say what I want.  It is confidential.  Unless danger.  You will be fne, they are my friends.

i just wondered do ure parents have to go cus on the letter it says my parents have to go, and its just i reali dnt wantthem there n stuff and if they do do they always have to go?

the first time you go to CAMHS your parents usually have to be there because they ask lots of questions and stuff that only your parents would know like stuff about when you were young etc but they go out when you talk to CAMHS yourself

After the first meeting your parents dont need to be there you go on your own

 Hey

I go to CAMHS at the moment, and has been going for a long time! It's nice knowing that you are able to have someone to talk too, that will understand how you are feeling! My first time i went was last year in August, the first session my mum && dad came with me, and they just asked why ii was being referred to them, and what my family is like && your interests and stuff like that! 

Now ii go on my own

Nothing to worry about.

Hi

I go to camhs for an eating disorder depression and self harm and also because of other family things.

Dont worry there really nice ( cant believe i admitted do that!) But it is normal to be nervous anyways ... if u wernt nervous id be worried about ya lol

Jens right ur parnts normally come with you then you seperate so you can say something that u may be uncomfortable saying infront of ur parents.

i go to CAMHS :) 

 

its really not that bad ... its got nothing to do with being unwell or anything like that ... its just couselling.

they dont judge you :) ...they are just there for help x

 I've recently started going to Camhs

Because of my age, my parents didn't have to come with me, or no anything about it.

It's really helped me seeing someone there,although I'm not out of the woods yet :)

Ive been going to CAMHS for about 4 years now, its not too bad you just have to give it a chance. It maynot be for everyone but its worth trying as this could change you for the better, Good Luck <3 xx
