I was hoping that i would find someone who is in the same situation as me on this website.
My name is Lily-Rose, i'm nearly 18 and in the exact same situation as yourself.
I suffer from an Anxiety Disorder, which means i get nervous around groups of people and places where there are restricted exits. I find it extremely difficult to talk to my friends, and because of this i have become the 'shy' one of our group. I feel like they're all in one clang and i am just someone who hovers around from time to time. I get alot of help, from a counsellor at college & also a connexions counseller, i'm also enduring hypnosis sessions to take away my panic attacks from my anxiety. If you tell a counsellor how you feel, they will be able to make sense of why you are like this around other people (for me i have discovered it's because of my childhood bullying) but they can give you tips and advice on how to initiate conversations with people and how to get better social skills. Not everyone has excellent social skills, some people have to learn them like myself. Connexions offer fantastic counselling and if you see a college counsellor they will specialise in dealing with things such as your problem.
I hope all goes well for you.
