    hey,

for about a year and i bit i have been having signs of depression, it seems to be getting worse and i dont know what to do. i have messaged childline but i dont want to tell my parents. i have a few questions. first of all, how do you know if your depressed? is there a certian way of telling if your diagnosed? (like a doctor diagnosing you?) if so, is there a way to stop it, like councelling or pills or something? also, will i get depressed again? and how do i know if it will work? im sure that just talking about it or taking pills wont take it away for sure...=( please help and many thanks.

    Hello :D ,

Sorry to here your going through a hard time i'm suffering from depression too . As you said in your email how do you spot it have you looked on the internet at the symptons of depression ? if you feel depressed you need to go to your doctors and tell them how you're feeling and they may refer you to CAMHS which is trained with mental health doctors , phycolgstic , phyasctrics , nurse , soical worker etc , you will most probley get dignosed explaing how you're feeling to the trained mental health people , as for the tablets they only take some of the pressure of the depression in your mind , talking theapry is basically talking about how your feeling with a trained mental health person and you both finding ways to cope with feelings and thoughts etc , but normally if your under the age of 16 they provide talking thearpy as they dont like giving medication to teen's and children , but if you do get medication they will offer you coucelling as well coz there not suppose to give medication with out any talking thearpy . No one can be sure if you get depressed again it can happen it might no happen you cant really say till the time comes to be onhsit , you have to take one day at a time its not easy but long as you keep to your treament plan or talking to people then you should feel a bit better .

As for you not wanting to tell your parents im sure they would rather want to no how youre feeling then bottling all of this up and coping alone ... if you cant talk face to face write it down for them thats also helps :) . Or you could get a teacher to tell your parents for you .

Please Please Talk to someone !!!!!!!

Your'e not alone and you dont have to cope with this alone loads of people would want to help and support you .

    Take care
