Hi there,
It’s good to hear from you, I am really glad you’ve got in touch and want to talk.
Being raped and assaulted is deeply upsetting. It’s important to remember that what happened you is not your fault and you are not to blame. Emotions such as shock, anger, fear or guilt are a normal reaction to rape or assault. It can also leave people feeling really down and depressed. It sounds like this is the impact it’s had on you. I am concerned that you feel suicidal and depressed and concerned as I know it can be really important to talk about feeling like this.
A website that it might help to have a look at is Rape Crisis, you could also read our page about Rape and sexual assault. You can also get support from the community of young people on the ChildLine message boards.
Many people who have had upsetting experiences self-harm to cope. It sounds like this is how you cope at the moment. There are other ways to cope, but if you do self-harm it’s really important that you do it as safely as possible. You can read more about self-harm and keeping safe on The Site.
I am worried that you’re not getting any support at the moment especially as you’ve said you're feeling suicidal. ChildLine can offer you support and the chance to talk over how you're feeling. If you did want to get in touch with a ChildLine counsellor they could help you work out the changes you want in your life, and how you can go about getting the support you want and need. You can call us on 0800 1111 or log on for a 1-2-1 chat.
