Hi there,
It can be really difficult when you start to have feelings for someone in your life. You might worry about telling them how you feel or how it might affect a friendship. It’s natural to have these confusing thoughts, especially during puberty.
Deciding whether to share your feelings with someone isn’t easy. Especially if you think telling them might change things. But talking to a friend you trust could be a way to work towards making your decision. And it might also help to have some support with your feelings.
When you begin to think about getting into relationships, it can be really tricky as you try to understand your feelings. It's important to think about what feels right for you and how you'd like things to be in a relationship.
It can also be hard to work out how other people feel. Talking openly to a group of friends that you trust can be a really useful way to learn from one another’s experiences because many young people go through things like this and are unsure about what to do or who to talk to.
Other young people on our message boards are talking about their experiences, which you might like to look at.
You might find it useful to talk through your options with a counsellor. They can support you to think about what might be the right decision for you.
Take care,
Sam
